Brushing & Spray Equipment
We operate a fully integrated production system that covers specimen testing, equipment and roll specification selection, design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning in line with our customers’ needs.
The brushing equipment is engineered to maximize the cleaning and descaling performance of the Brush Roll. In addition, the brushing equipment is designed to save space and allow easy maintenance when inserting or removing Brush Rolls.
Benefits
- The implementation of an upper-and-lower brush roll system reduces the required installation space by approximately 50% compared to conventional brush-backup roll systems. Furthermore, the removal of the backup roll minimizes maintenance expenses, enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
-
Vibration that causes strip surface chatter and bearing damage can be reduced.
As shown in the illustration, the brush to brush configuration generates minimal vibration because the contact points between the strip surface and the upper and lower Brush Rolls are aligned.
- The Brush Roll can be easily removed from the side (operator side), significantly reducing roll replacement time. In addition, the connection between the motor side and the brush side has been newly designed, eliminating the need to disassemble the motor (drive side) connection. A wide range of roll changers is available, from manual to fully automatic types.
Functional Options
Oscillation System
This system enables the brush equipment to oscillate back and forth along the strip's width direction when detecting both edges of the strip. By utilizing this functionality, the brush roll experiences uniform wear, effectively minimizing irregular wear patterns and ensuring smooth and consistent brushing on the strip surface. Moreover, the system extends the overall lifespan of the brush roll, reducing maintenance requirements and enhancing operational efficiency through prolonged durability.
Advantages
- By using Brush Rolls with an oscillation function, foreign material on the roll surface can be removed uniformly.
- With an air-cooled Brush Roll shaft structure, brush filaments are prevented from clogging or overheating.
- Can be used under both wet and dry conditions.
- Brush Roll use / non-use modes can be selected.
C-Camber Correction Device
This equipment uses a pinch roll to flatten the C-shaped strip at the brushing point.
It is used to equalize brushing performance across the strip width and to reduce the risk of brush roll damage.
Spray Electrolytic Equipment
This system is specifically designed to reduce the adhesion of oil on strip surfaces effectively. When combined with brush rolls, it significantly enhances brushing performance. Moreover, the spray electrolytic equipment is engineered for space-efficient operation, optimizing both functionality and layout flexibility.
Advantages
- Compared with conventional E.C.T., the higher current density allows a significant reduction in power consumption. (When using two Alkali Brush stands, power usage is reduced by more than 80 percent compared to E.C.T.)
- Low power consumption minimizes stray-current corrosion of tanks and prevents contamination and malfunction of surrounding equipment.
- The compact size shortens the overall line length, saving space and improving productivity, and it can be added to existing equipment.
- Compared with conventional E.C.T., electrode replacement and maintenance are simpler, providing a dramatic improvement in serviceability.
Mechanism and Benefits of Spray Electrolytic Equipment
- Spray Electrolytic System: Employs ionized alkaline solutions to effectively reduce the adhesion strength of oil on steel surfaces.
- Alkaline Brush System: Utilizes an alkaline cleaning agent to emulsify oils, facilitating the removal of both oil residues and iron particles from the steel surface.
- Hot Water Brush System: Applies hot water to meticulously rinse off residual alkaline solution, leaving the steel surface clean and contaminant-free.

Mill Roll Polishing Equipment
Skin Pass Mill/Temper Mill
- Using Brush Rolls with a vibration function enables uniform removal of iron particles and dust from the roll surface.
- Air is injected into the Brush Roll shaft to prevent brush filaments from clogging or overheating.
- Usable under both WET conditions (with brush cooling water) and DRY conditions (without brush cooling water).
- The Brush Roll can be fully emptied when not in use.
Edge Polisher Equipment
This equipment is used to remove over-coating and attached foreign material from both edges of the strip.
Advantages
- Special Brush Rolls polish the upper and lower surfaces up to approximately 1.0 mm inside each strip edge.
- Wave defects that may occur during the production of sheets thinner than 0.4 mm are controlled by adjusting the position of the support roll.
- Brush Rolls move rapidly from the open-limit position, controlled by the edge-detecting device, to the brushing position.
